March Meeting Minutes
Suzan Hirsch opened the meeting:
*Marcy George told us about the Kathy Harrington Quilt
at St. Agnes Hospital that needs to be completed. Volunteers
are needed to quilt, join blocks and otherwise complete
Kathy’s work. Call Marcy if you can help.
*Karoline Wallace said the website is up and running. The
membership list will be emailed to all. Karoline also asked
that you make sure your membership dues check has been
cashed by your bank. If not, please let Karoline know.
*Cindy Friedman gave a treasurers report and told us that
we have $4700 in the bank. As our guild has grown, we
need to have about $2000 in the bank in order to maintain
the present level of spending. This means we need to sell
pins and collect dues in a timely manner.
*Lin Vandenberg said that the hospitality group expects to
improve the level of refreshments at meetings and therefore
we need three monthly “donors” and have healthy
items for snacks.
*AQATS members reported that our guild is sponsoring a
$150 award in Sherri Dunbar’s name at the April 2004
show. A letter will be sent to Sherri’s family. Our April
meeting will be at the Sedgwick for our annual “Private
Showing” at 7:30 pm.
Show and Tell
1. Judy Allison showed a pillow with “fuzzy” binding.
2. Suzan Hirsch brought a new piece for the Sedgwick show and
also told us that one of her pieces has been accepted into The Fiber Artists
of Philadelphia Alliance show. Yea Suzan!!
3. Donna Le Blanc brought us a watercolor heart using fusible
blocks.
Christeen Brady showed us an art quilt using some of Lonni’s
fabric.
4. Trish Robbins showed a hand quilted Amish quilt she made
in 1987. She also brought in a newer piece of a mermaid and pearl wall hanging
embellished in golds, yellows and reds. Even Trish’s coat was a beautiful
