From the President
Well, I was hoping I could report on how I spotted the first crocuses of the season in my back yard, but...I'm listening to the weather report and there's snow in the forecast again tomorrow.
I have to admit, I've been enjoying this winter so far. It's the first "real" winter I've seen since I moved here in April of 1996. But even I have to say enough is enough. I only hope that all of our snow days created more quilting days in your busy lives.
And I also hope that everyone was comfortable with our new meeting place last
month. I thought it went well for a first meeting. It got a little too warm
at one point but I didn't say anything in fear of being run out of town on a
snow blower. Several members did give me positive feedback before we left the
meeting. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or concerns for the
future.
I'm really looking forward to hearing Christina Johnson speak about her trip
to Africa and I hope all of you can make it to the March meeting. And last,
but certainly not least, congratulations to Tracey and her giraffe! (That sounds
like the title of a children's book.) Her beautiful quilt of a giraffe in an
African landscape was accepted into the Quilter's
Heritage Show in Lancaster next month. Make sure you see it if you're going
to the show.
See you at the meeting,
Janet
