Cindy Friedman read this note to the guild at the March meeting:

I regret that I must drop my membership in the Heartstring Quilters. There are several reasons for this decision.

1. As some members may remember, I share a house with Sheila Rosenfield who has MS (you all supported
her fundraising for the special wheelchair). She died on December 12 of cancer. We had no knowledge of the disease, she just went into the emergency room on November 20 for pain and never came home. The results of this are many, including a substantial reduction in my income.

2. I have returned to school and it seems that I always have a class on Thursday nights. I can’t skip class—professors don’t like that. Let me say that I will miss all my “friends” at Heartstrings. They have been a marvelous support to Sheila and me over many years. Maybe on a Thursday when I don’t have class I can make it to a meeting — as a guest.

Thanks for your understanding,
